A: Less than 5% of contractors can manufacture an ANSI/SPRI ES-1 design as required by the IBC. Shop fabricated copings are rarely, if ever, tested to FM or Miami–Dade standards and they typically carry only a 1-2 year workmanship warranty. Conversely, Metal-Era products are ANSI/SPRI ES-1 tested and both FM and Miami-Dade compliant. They also come with the industry’s best warranties.
